Forma Studio
A Swiss-typographic portfolio for a London architecture practice.
The Challenge
Architecture practices need their websites to do what their buildings do — demonstrate control of proportion, material and detail. The brief was a portfolio that an RIBA jury would nod at: disciplined, typographic, zero decoration that doesn't earn its place.
The Solution
The design system borrows from the International Style: near-black on warm white with a single gold accent, Space Grotesk set tight for display, Playfair Display reserved for pull quotes, numbered sections and ruled dividers giving every page a drawn-on-a-grid feel.
Eight projects — residential, commercial and cultural — each carry a full case study with brief, approach and detail photography. The project index filters by type with a staggered entrance animation that's felt rather than noticed.
Key Features
Every case study page is statically generated with structured project data, so the practice can add work by editing one file. The contact page personalises its thank-you state with the enquirer's first name — a one-line touch that gets remembered.
Real architectural photography throughout, art-directed to the palette; the whole site reads as a single, considered artefact.
