Hoodmor
Tactile e-commerce for a ceramic design duo — part shop, part gallery.
The Challenge
Hoodmor's pieces are one-offs and small batches — closer to artwork than inventory. A Shopify template would have flattened that. The site needed to present plates and mugs the way a gallery presents work, while still being a real shop the two founders could run between kiln firings.
The Solution
We built the catalogue like an exhibition: Fraunces serif headings, a cream ground with terracotta and sage accents, generous spacing, and product photography given room to breathe. Categories (Plates, Mugs, Artwork) filter in place; product pages carry galleries and the story of each piece.
A projects section documents collaborations and commissions, and the about page walks through the making process — the content that turns browsers into collectors.
Key Features
The custom admin is the quiet star: a no-code product manager that commits changes through GitHub and triggers automatic deploys — CMS economics without CMS subscriptions.
Cart state runs through Zustand, the Instagram grid pulls the studio's feed onto the homepage, and the whole site keeps the tactile, slightly playful warmth of the work itself.
